High Beech is the place to be this summer
Here we are at the end of June and we are finally facing the British summer. The weather recently has definitely been improving with hotter temperatures and weaker winds. With that in mind, isn't it about time you dusted off your bats and enjoyed some after work golf with your collegues? High Beech is the place to come and play, with our two nine-hole courses designed all levels of golfers.
The Yellow Course will cost you just £8 to play, with every golf needing their own equipment. If you wanted to play the Red Course, you can play nine holes and hire some clubs for the price of £7! So even if you don't play golf too often or don't have your own set, come along with your friends and enjoy the longer summer evenings with us here at High Beech Golf Course. Find out more about both courses on our website here.Shop specials
Driving's for show, putting's for Major titles
Putting criticism of Chambers Bay and the USGA to one side, if you managed to stay up past 3am on Monday then you were rewarded with one of the most entertaining US Open in recent times. True, it wasn't always enthralling for the right reasons as players and pundits queued up to have a dig at the state of the greens, but after Dustin Johnson three-putted the last, Masters champion Jordan Spieth was crowned the winner. The Grand Slam is very much on, and what a story that would be.
Despite all the criticism of the greens, it's somewhat ironic that the best putter in the world came out on top. Other players may have had a length advantage but when it came down to it, it was the flatstick that won Spieth his second Major, helped by his unerring ability to find the right spots on the green, time and time again.
So, with this in mind, it's time to get to work on your putting stroke; it's where you'll most likely pick up strokes on the field. Take a look at the putting article below and/or pop in to see us and let's take a look at your stroke, we may even find that a fitting will unlock your putting potential.
